Floor Staff & Bar Staff – Rooftop Dining Venue
We are seeking experienced Floor Staff and Bar Staff with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences at our stunning rooftop venue.
Located atop the luxurious new Hotel X in the heart of Brisbane’s dining scene, Iris is a Mediterranean-inspired oasis in the sky. With breathtaking 360-degree views spanning the Story Bridge, city skyline, Fortitude Valley and Moreton Bay, Iris offers an unforgettable setting for both guests and team members.
Floor Staff
As a Floor Staff member, you will report to the Restaurant Manager and play a key role in the smooth day-to-day operation of the restaurant, ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless and memorable dining experience.
Key responsibilities include:
Welcoming and escorting guests to their tables
Setting tables and maintaining a clean, organised dining area
Presenting menus, providing detailed information and making recommendations
Delivering bills and processing payments efficiently
Working closely with bar and kitchen teams to ensure timely service
Bar Staff
As a Bar Staff member, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality beverages and warm, professional service in a fast-paced rooftop environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing and serving cocktails, wines, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages to a high standard
Providing knowledgeable recommendations and engaging with guests at the bar
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the bar area
Managing stock levels and adhering to responsible service of alcohol requirements
Supporting floor staff during busy service periods
About You
Previous experience in a premium dining or high-volume hospitality venue
Strong communication skills and a polished, professional presentation
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding guest experiences

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.
What We’re Looking For
Successful candidates will have at least 1 year’s experience in a similar role and environment, along with the following skills and attributes:
Valid RSA (essential)
Friendly, patient and attentive approach to customer service
Strong communication skills with the ability to actively listen
Excellent personal presentation and hygiene standards
Experience with cash handling and point-of-sale / ordering systems
Strong organisational and multitasking skills
Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
Good understanding of food safety and safe handling practices
Please note: This role operates on a rotating roster and will include late nights, weekends and public holidays.
